Pint Sized Picasso

Both kids love to draw and create art. Luckily for me they see the benefit of helping their artistic visions come alive on paper and not the walls.

Lorenzo is great at drawing circles and shapes right now. He blends quite a few colors to make mini-collages.

With his new short hair cut he looks like he just woke up, but he looks like this all the time!

Veronica takes her art seriously and always asks for her art smock before she gets creative.

A Pirouette, Very Fast

Lorenzo obviuosly adores his big sister. She has learned how to pirouette from watching a short clip on Sesame Street. Once she began to show her new dance move off, he picked it up right away. Listen to him say 'Huggie' as he gives her a bear hug and 'very fast, pirouette, as he twirls away. Is French going to be his next language. His nonna would be very proud.

The Kids Love The Black Eyed Peas

The kids love music and this is the best dance movie they have made so far. Pay special attention to Lorenzo, he is super cute.

Lorenzo is Two

On Lorenzo's actual birthday we took the kids out to spend some time in Seattle at the Childrens' Museum. The little guy seemed a bit confused when we kept mentioning it was his birthday. He did not seem as interested as Veronica was but he for surely knows he is two years old, both in Italian and English.

Having a full blooded boy in the family has been wonderful. He has a great sense of humor and countless energy really make our household lively. He is quite expressive even if he only speaks in 1-3 word phrases. He is the perfect little brother to Veronica. He adores the air she exhales and worships the ground she walks on. Watching the kids grow up and being a stay at home mom is a real joy, I don't have to wonder where my kids pick up new words or habits, I know I am their life's' teacher and they make me proud everyday.

Lorenzo's First Professional Haircut

Lorenzo was looking scruffy after about 5 mommy haircuts. I have tried to cut his hair in the bathtub, in the highchair, while he is having a bottle and in a few other strange places. Today we finally decided to get him in a hair chair.

The little guy did really well, I had to bribe him to stay still with mints but all in all they were quick and the process was painless.

He looks very handsome and more like a little man than a baby.

Halloween 2009

This is little Lorenzo dresses as a monkey. We went to the local mall where there were tons of activities for the kids, music, balloons, etc... it was a crazy zoo. We decided never again.

Thank you Francesca for taking this photo of Veronica and I. Most of the time I am behind he camera and not in front of it.

Here are are as a family, both kids were happy to dress up in their costumes. On the downside, today we found out Veronica has a phobia of masks and painted faces. She was very nervous the entire night until we got to the kids' play area, then she relaxed.

This is Veronica with her good friend Matilda. They are both going skiing this winter together.

2 and 3 year old Check-ups

Today the kids went to the pediatrician for their 2 and 3 year check ups. Both were fully vaccinated but still needed flu shots for this season. Lorenzo saw the needle coming and looked straight at it while saying 'pokey, pokey'. The nurses assistant was super quick and all he did was take a breath and it was over. I turned Veronica's face away from the injection but she felt the prick and cried a bit but was quick to compose herself after a hug and kiss.
After the shots, we got the kids dressed and Lorenzo had to have his finger pricked and bled for a small blood sample to test his platelets. When they pricked his finger with the lancet, he said 'pokey, pokey' again but did not complain at all when they bled is finger, which took about 2 minutes. I wonder if he is the type of kid who will end up walking around with broken bones from sports accidents and not even know it.

My strange son, has a total obsession with scrub brushes, pine cones, leaves, brooms and mops. Either he loves the rough texture of these items or he will grow up to be one helluva great maintenance man.

Whenever Demetrio comes home early he puts Lorenzo to bed. The little guy is getting so tall, 34 inches, 86 cm, that he is almost too long for the changing table and our laps. He is 30 pounds and 13.6 kilos.

Veronica weighed in at 35 pounds, 16 kilos, and 39 inches, 99 cm. She is growing well and above average in height and weight. No wonder I have to go to the chiropractor every week.

Lorenzo as a Chicken Little

No, this is not Lorenzo's Halloween costume. It is much too small for him. We were graciously invited to to Karen's and Sophia's house for a play date last week and Karen happened to have some costumes for the kids to try on. Lorenzo loved this one and makes a very fine chicken if I do say so myself. The kids played, danced around and had a great time. His real costume will be that of a monkey, more photos to follow in a week or so.

I guess this is the little guy being a shy or coy chicken, too cute for words!

Indie's Birthday

Veronica and Lorenzo were invited to a friends' birthday this past w-e. Indie is an old friend of Veronica, she just adores him. They had a race car themed party with all the works. Both kids painted race cars and got to race them on a real hobby track.

Here Veronica is waiting to see if her car finishes first.

Just look at those cars go!!!!

Of all the fun things Lorenzo could have been doing at the party, he fixated himself on a piece of sandpaper that we used to sand the toy cars. He carried it around with him for two hours before taking it home. Such a boy.

I adore this photo of Veronica, she is having so much fun with the balloons that is oblivious to me taking her photo. She is too cute for words here!

More Cute Videos

Veronica asked for steak, mushroom, broccoli and spaghetti for her birthday dinner. Here she is eating it. Listen to Lorenzo ask for 'more vino and more popcorn' at the end of the video.

Veronica asks for spaghetti for her birthday dinner and she shares it with Lorenzo, what cute kids I have.

Vero sings hey diddle the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran away with the spoon. Super cute!
